Drs. Patricia Fairchild and Diane Vigna of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Rita Blocksom, AQG President, presented information on the Quilt Quest curriculum to attendees, as well as providing activities designed to help youth gain a historical perspective of the role quilts have played, learn about preservation and care of quilts, how to design actual or virtual quilts, and how teachers can incorporate quilting methods and techniques into school subjects such as math, science, language arts, and history.

Power Point presentations, suggestions for quilt conservation, the demonstration of machine and hand quilting by volunteers from Guild membership and selected games, again from the Quilt Quest materials, all played a tremendous part in making this a fun and informative day for everyone who participated. This session allowed everyone who attended the opportunity to learn more about the program and how it can help educators invorporate the activities into community learning projects for such groups as 4-Hers, scouts and boys/girls club leaders, home schoolers and private and parochial schools programs. Also stressed was that the program can be used in community and senior centers and other areas through mentoring programs.
